It is really simple, takes ten minutes to prepare and it will blow your mind! But before I share the recipe, you should know what I was wearing when I made it for friends last night.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey
1 pound ribeye steak
2 cans Herdez Salsa - Verde
2 cans Herdez Salsa - Casera
1 can petite diced tomatoes
1 can black beans
12 oz Dr Pepper
1 package of Senor Gordon's chili mix
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt or powder
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Put it all in a crock pot and let it cook for 2 hours. I will share a couple of important steps.
1. Drain and rinse the black beans
2. Chop the steak into small pieces and get rid of any fat (the white fat look gross in chili)
3. Add the Dr. Pepper last so you can get the consistency you like out of your chili
Here are some visual aids:
Best damn chili mix there is!!!
These little cans of Herdez are $1 and save all kinds of time chopping.
Figuring out that Dr. Pepper is good in chili took this recipe to globally renowned status.
Mix turkey & ribeye steak!
Throw it all in a crock pot.
Bon Appétit
